Color w/ B&Ws KMerkley

I do my enhancements a little differently than how it was shown in the meeting. Take the image into PhotoShop, and duplicate the image. Turn the duplicated image into a black and white that you like and then, on the black and white layer, use the erase tool to only get what you want in color and the behind layer will show through :).

There's also another fun trick that you can do, I dont have the best example, because I haven't take the time to do these right in a long time but below is an example of a very quickly done color change. This allows you to change shirt colors, eye colors... anything you can imagine. Its done the exact same as above, but takes more time and precision then the first one.
Go through the same steps as above, then go to the bottom layer and then Ctrl+U into Hue and Saturations and choose your coloring. You may have to play with the black and white layer to make it realistic.

p.s. this can also be done with teeth for whitening by making the bottom layer the black and white.

Fireworks, Glowsticks, and the Sunset

Was able to get some awsome fireworks, had fun with glowsticks and went to the temple to take photos of the sunset. The fireworks were taken on a point and shoot camera and the others were taken on a Sony. ~Caitlin Fisk

a walk around rexburg, size 4

These were all shot using a pentax film slr camera, probably about f5.6 using 400 speed film
that I scanned into digital format.

Fun on the 4th of July and others

Just had some fun trying fireworks. Then went up to the temple on Monday and loved the colors in the sky at sunset. Then I found two others from this semester and was wondering what people thought of them. All were taken on a Sony Super Steady Shot Camera. ~ Caitlin Fisk

All shots were taken with a Canon 40d with various lenses. Each photo was ONLY processed in the camera raw dialogue and no other photoshopping was done. Except for the family in the fireworks shot who were dodged into the picture. Happy Independence Day!

4th of July Fireworks Tips

This is a great tutorial about photographing fireworks. Check it out.

Also remember that the moon is going to be 90% full and really bright. Check out this website for information about the moon at your location, just type in the the city name (ex. Rexburg, ID moon). http://www.wolframalpha.com/

Happy Shooting!

Buckaroo Bills By Dylan Hancey

This is the poster that i designed for Bill, of Buckaroo Bills, (I am working there this summer) you can see the original drawing that was used as a guide but the difference is huge. all of the elements in the photos are from scratch except the horse and font paper texture, but the horse is changed enough that it might as well be considered from scratch. Both of the images took about 21hrs to do. here is a link to the font (one of my favorites) Bleeding Cowboys
